United States Department of the Interior

Year: 2024
Cost: $174,628
Scope: Following a fire and subsequent water damage, a complex restoration project was undertaken in a government building. On five floors and stairwells, water was extracted, contents were protected, drying equipment was set up, containment barriers and air machines were installed, and odor treatments were performed. Monitoring continued until all readings were normal, smoke damage was cleaned and treated, and ambient air testing was conducted. Repairs included installing new drywall, prepping for painting, and painting. Trunk lines and air handling units were cleaned post-repair, followed by final cleanup and resetting of contents. Coordination with stakeholders and addressing various damages required extensive communication. An “a la carte” restoration menu allowed the client to choose specific tasks. The ability to handle repairs and restoration flexibly and swiftly met the urgent need to reopen offices.
