Challenge:
The Town of Strasburg faced outdated and insufficient restroom facilities at its Town Park, limiting accessibility, functionality, and user comfort. The existing structure lacked ADA-compliant features, modern amenities, and adequate capacity to serve the growing number of park visitors, including families and individuals with disabilities.
Solution:
The town initiated a renovation project to transform the facility into a modern four-unit restroom. The plan includes two ADA-compliant family restrooms and separate men’s and women’s two-stall restrooms. Upgrades involve new plumbing, electrical systems, vandal-resistant fixtures, improved ventilation, and an ADA-accessible concrete pathway. The project is funded through ARPA and emphasizes code compliance and durability.
Expected Results:
The renovated facility will significantly enhance accessibility, hygiene, and user experience. It will accommodate more visitors, reduce maintenance needs, and align with ADA standards. The improvements are expected to increase park usage, support community events, and reflect the town’s commitment to inclusive, high-quality public infrastructure.
