As a Construction Punch Out Carpenter, you will play a vital role in the final stages of construction projects, ensuring that all finishing touches are completed to the highest standards in a variety of trades. Your primary responsibility will be to address any outstanding issues, defects, or discrepancies in the construction work before the final handover to the client. You will be able to self-manage your work and work closely with the project team to identify and rectify any issues promptly, ensuring that the completed project meets quality control standards, inspections, and client expectations.

 

The Construction Punch Out Carpenter participates in the final quality and appearance of construction projects, requiring a combination of carpentry skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.

 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of completed construction projects to identify any defects, errors, or issues that require correction.
  • Punch List Compilation: Compile a comprehensive punch list detailing all necessary corrections, including:
        • Carpentry-related tasks such as installing trim and hardware, adjusting doors, repairing cabinets, windows, screens, blinds, doors, locks, exterior, and fixing any structural deficiencies.
        • Drywall repairs, caulking, painting.
        • Minor maintenance on plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Carpentry Work: Execute carpentry tasks according to the punch list, including installing, repairing, or replacing various components.
  • Finish Work: Ensure that all finishing work, including painting, staining, and sealing, is completed to the required standards and matches the project specifications.
  • Communication: Collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and other tradespeople to coordinate punchout activities efficiently and address any emerging issues promptly.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain a keen eye for detail and uphold quality standards throughout punchout, ensuring that all work meets regulatory requirements and client expectations.
  • Time Management: Manage time effectively to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines, ensuring that punch out activities do not delay the completion of the project.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of punch out activities, including completed tasks, materials used, and any additional requirements or changes to the original plans.
  • Maintain professionalism and integrity in all contacts and communications.
  • Produce high-quality work with attention to detail while operating with a sense of urgency.

Responsibilities include managing labor, materials, and subcontractors, reviewing project documents, enforcing safety policies, and coordinating inspections. The role involves attending meetings, handling RFIs, monitoring progress, and ensuring compliance with building codes. Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills are essential. The Superintendent provides hands-on support, supervises crews, and maintains site readiness.

 

A minimum of three years of supervisory experience in commercial or government construction is required. A high school diploma is mandatory, with a degree in construction management or engineering preferred.

The PBI Commercial Construction Estimator plays a critical role in estimating interior and exterior commercial construction projects, ensuring accurate cost assessments to support sales and bidding. This position requires extensive experience in large-scale estimating, strong client interaction skills, and the ability to manage budgets and proposals effectively. Responsibilities include attending pre-bid meetings, conducting site inspections, preparing detailed estimates, negotiating with subcontractors, and coordinating with engineers and architects. The role also involves contract management, customer service, documentation, and proficiency in construction estimating software.

 

A minimum of five years of experience in commercial construction estimating is required, with preferred industry certifications.

The PBI Commercial Construction Project Manager oversees new commercial construction projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget adherence. Responsibilities include conducting pre-construction meetings, scheduling labor and subcontractors, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety codes and regulations. The role involves reviewing plans, negotiating change orders, obtaining permits, and overseeing trade contractors.

 

Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills are essential. Experience with industry software, on-call availability, and physical capability for site inspections are required. A minimum of five years of relevant experience, including two in project management, is necessary. OSHA and PMP certifications are highly desirable for this role.

The PBI Technician is responsible for responding to emergency and planned service requests for commercial clients, including water mitigation, mold remediation, fire restoration, and specialty cleaning. This role supports property restoration by executing assigned tasks, managing labor technicians, and maintaining job site documentation. Responsibilities include staging affected areas, removing debris, transporting equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Technicians must communicate effectively with clients and team leaders while maintaining professional standards. This role includes warehouse and vehicle maintenance tasks and follows a rotating on-call schedule.
