PBI Commercial is proud to have been awarded the Emergency Remediation, Mitigation, Restoration, and Reconstruction Services contract with the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB). This award represents a continued partnership with one of Maryland’s leading institutions and reinforces PBI’s role as a trusted provider of rapid‑response recovery services for complex, high‑demand facilities.
The contract spans nine years and requires immediate response capabilities, disciplined execution, and fully transparent pricing. PBI was selected through a competitive procurement process that evaluated experience, responsiveness, technical capability, and cost structure. The University’s selection reflects PBI’s ability to deliver consistent, compliant results under demanding conditions.
Under this contract, PBI provides full‑service support across the entire lifecycle of an incident. Services include emergency mitigation to stabilize conditions, environmental remediation to address contamination and damage, and complete restoration and reconstruction to return facilities to pre‑loss condition. Capabilities include water extraction, structural drying, mold remediation, contents handling, reconstruction, and specialty services such as electronics and document recovery.
UMB requires a rapid, coordinated response with initial deployment within two hours, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. PBI’s operational structure is built to meet this level of performance, enabling immediate mobilization, accurate damage assessment, and efficient deployment of labor and equipment to minimize disruption and restore safety as quickly as possible.
A key component of the contract is the use of structured, line‑item pricing supported by industry‑recognized estimating platforms. This approach ensures all work is clearly defined, auditable, and consistent across projects, while maintaining cost control and alignment with institutional requirements.
